George Sheesley – born 14 July 1827 OH. Died 22 Nov 1910. Son of George Sheesley and Elizabeth Meirr, both born in PA. Married Eliza Peffers who was born 18 July 1832 OH. She died 8 Aug 1910. Eliza was the daughter of Mr. Peffers born NJ and Miss Ranney born CN. Father and son are buried Peoria Cemetery, IA. Sheesley family moved from the Columbus OH area to IA by 1856. Resident 1880, 1895, 1910 Mahaska co. IA.

Ed and Flora buried Peoria Cemetery. Resident 1895, 1910 Mahaska Co. IA. Children of Edward and Ida: Thomas E. born 1893; Mammie born 1895, both Mahaska Co.
According to “History of Mahaska County, IA” (1984) Sheesley School #3 was northwest of Peoria. Ed Sheesley lived in 12 room house with both running water and electricity. A teacher boarded with them (possibly this is John Ridgeway).
19. Joseph L. Sheesley – born 1871 IA. Married Mary Meacham. Child: Louisa J. who married Bartley De Witt. Louisa was born 15 Nov 1859 IA, died 6 Sept 1906 Pella IA, buried White Oak Cemetery.Resident 1910 Mahaska Co. IA.
Also at Peoria Cemetery is John Sheesley died 18 Nov 1898, 86 y16d. Could be George’s brother.
