OBITUARY SATURDAY JANUARY 27, 1917.
Mr. Spear Died Suddenly.
Joseph Spear of Howard Kansas arrived last night to attened the funeral of his father, Elijah L. Spear, and Mrs. John Campbell and Alfred Spear of parsons arrived this morning. Alfred Spear is a grandson of the dead man.

Mr. Spear died suddenlly yesterday morning at his home 25 west third street. He had been ill for some time with pneumonia, but was thought to be improving. His wife, who had been caring for him left him resting easy at 4 o'clock in the morning. He remained quiet, so quiet that she went to see what was wrong an found him dear. The funeral servicds were held this afternoon from his late home.
