Records show a Samuel Murdock in Mohican Twp in 1815 - he disappears after this. He could have died or gone back to NY like Alva did after his father Daniel W. died in 1818

1821 - Samuel Murdock farms Section 14, NW1/4 160 acres, 1821 through 1825 = R. This is just east of James’ location and inside the “one-mile strip.” (Thomas Shelby seemed to have the rest of Sec 14) Believe this is Daniels brother. On a later Plat Map, this is the same property where David is living. Samuel disappears from the tax lists by 1823.
