NOTES in Ancestry for Elijah and Moses:
Moses Spear, born 3 Mar 1720 married Sibbel Hunt....they had two children. Sibble Hunt died 11 Aug 1748 at Lebanon, Ct. Moses then married Submit Hastings on 9 Mar 1749 at Lebanon, Ct. Submit was b. 15 Oct 1727 at Suffield, Ct and was the daughter of Rev. Joseph Hastings and Dorcas Smith b. 15 Oct 1727. Moses and Submit had 10 children including Elijah born 22 June 1755 at W. Suffield, Ct. Moses died 1-8-1782 and is buried in W. Suffield Cemetery.
Moses Spear, born 24 Dec 1757, son of Moses and Submit, was a Private in Captain Harmon's Company 8 of Wolcott Regiment in the Revolutionary War. He died 21 Dec 1824 at West Suffield and is buried in Zion Hill Cemetery in Suffield.
Elijah Spear born 22 June 1755 married Lydia Kent born 22 Feb 1757 at Suffield, Ct. Lydia was the daughter of Joseph Kent and Lisabeth Palmer who md 7 Mar 1747 at Suffield. Elijah and Lydia had nine children including Moses b. 26 Aug 1787 at Rupert, Vt. When Lydia died shortly after moving to Stanbridge, Elijah married Anna Portelow about 1797...they had four children at Stanbridge.
Moses, son of Elijah and Lydia, married Hannah. After Hannah died, Moses married Pricilla Tyron of Caldwell River, daughter of David Tyron, Jr., and Jane Crawford...they had three more children.
WILL IS OF ANOTHER ELIJAH, POSSIBLY A SON: Chittenden, Charlotte Co, Vermont names wife Polly Spear; daughter Sarah Reynolds who has died but left heirs Albert E under 21and Sarah M Reynolds under 18; sons Daniel L and Oscar E. 13 Jan 1865. Daniel is executor
DNA matches with half-siblings of Calvin though a first marriage that produced Elijah, 1779, Moses 1787, Rachel 1802, Years do not quite work as Calvin born 1800 unless his father married a third time

Elijah Spear's name is on the list of Rupert (VT) men who under Captain Enoch Eastman were called out May 1, 1782 to pursue the enemy which had taken Lt William Blanchard of Arlington, VT and Captain Hinds son's of Arlington captives.
