Will of Jane Murdock
In view of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, I, Jane Murdock, widow of Eli Murdock, deceased of Holton, Ripley County Indiana, do make in the full posession of my faculties this my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Eliphalet Murdock the following real estate situated in Ripley County Indiana to with all of the last in the south half of section Two, Town Seven (7), Range (10) Lew East that lies North of the Ohio and Mississippi Rail Road supposed to be one hundred and sixty acres more or less. Also the south part of the South East Fourth of the North East Quarter section (2) Two. Town Seven (7), Range (10) Ten containing thirty five acres. It being the same land conveyed to me by Eliphalet Murdock by Deed dated November 11th 1869, the same being formerly Eliphalets portion set apart to him of my late husbands Real Estate.
After the payment of all my just debts, I further will and bequeath unto the said Eliphalet Murdock my son as aforesaid all the balance of my property Real and personal.
In case of the death of my son Eliphalet before my own decease, I hereby will and bequeath all of the property above devised to him to his heirs at law it being my wish that paid property go to him if living and if not to his family if any survive me and in case he has no direct heirs either wife or descendants then to his Collateral heirs at law.
I hereby constitute and appoint Rowland ____ and Robert Blair the executors of this my last will and testament. I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In Witness where of I here unto set my hand and seal this 15th day of Nov 1869.
