Purchased land 4 Dec 1804 from Captain Peter Hull. Jacob located a cemetery on this land which became known as the Shinaberry Cemetery, Highland Co. PA. Located on Rte 640 about 6-7 miles north of Hightown, about 1.5 miles before Bluegrass. The cemetery is on left behind a red barn, on top of the hill.

The Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. VIIThe records of TrinityLutheran Churchshow that 'Peter Thomas Hohl, a widower and a miler; on the SusquehannaRiver, and Susannah Mararetha Dieffenbach, a single person, ahve been publishedseveral Sundays, and are joined, in wedlock, 25th of November 1750.' Peter Thomas Hull, hisbride, and his two soms by his former marriage, Peter and Francis Hull, took the trail towardsthe Valley of Virginia. They settled on land bought from Christopher Francisco, on Cub'sRun, RockinghamCounty, Virginia on 2 July 1752. This land was a part of the Jacob Stover tracts. JacobStover was an ancestor or President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In 1765, theyacquired land in Crab Apple Bottom, the garden spot of what is now Highland County, Virginia. Thewill of Peter Thomas Hull, was recorded March 19, 1776 in Will Book 5, page 407, AugustaCounty, VA. It reads as follows:In the name of God Amen:The twenty-eighth day of November, on Thousand seven hundred, andseventy-five.I, Peter Hohl, of Augusta County and Colony of Virginia, being sick in bodybut sound of mind andMemory; thanks be to Almighty God for the same, do make and declare this mylast will and Testamentin manner and form following, first to my dearly beloved wife, SusannahMargaret, I give and bequeaththe third part of the estate, after all my just debts are paid any myEldest son Peter shall according
to my will and desire after my decease give unto his (step) Mother the thirdpart or share of the increase of Grain to the land produces and shall bringthe same into the Barn and Thresh it for her. I likewisebequeath further unto my wife to have choice of two milk cows and thePennsylvania Mare also a horsefor her to ride and to work, which horse is to remain upon the plantationand not to be disposed of,likewise the choice of two sheep; the division of my land shall be in thefollowing manner;(1st) the land be surveyed from the lower end on the line up to the DryRun.
