Jacob Isaac Greeson is the son of German Immigrant Isaac Grieson and his wife Margaret Bruner. Jacob Isaac Greeson also known as Jacob Grieson, by the German spelling of Greeson. The following is information on Isaac Grieson, the German immigrant father.
Source is the book - "Pennsylvania German Pioneers, Volume I" by Ralph Beaver Strassburger, page 22
German Palatines immigrated into America in the English ship James Goodwill, per David Crackatt, Mr, from Rott.....Subscribed the forgoing declaration 11th Sept. 1728. Isac GRISON (German signature)
His father Isaac Grieson apparently migrated from Adams County, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America into western Washington County, Pennsylvania by 1740. Washington County, Pennsylvania is where Jacob Isaac Greeson was born along with his three known siblings, Nicholas Greeson, Unity Greeson and Margaret Greeson.
The entire Greeson Family along with a large number of other German Immigrants migrated into central Colonial North Carolina by1760. Most likely, the unrest following the July 1755 French and Indian War resulted in many German families traveling down the Shenandoah Valley Great Wagon Road into a safer North Carolina. Large numbers of German families settled and established Lutheran churches in Colonial Guilford and Randolph Counties, North Carolina.
Jacob Isaac Greeson, age 25, married Elizabeth Cook, age 16, in 1765 in Colonial Orange County (Now Guilford), North Carolina. They were the parents to four known children:
1. Isaac Greeson, b. 1766 NC; 1856 NC.
2. Rev John Jacob Greeson, b. 1768 NC; d. 1854 NC
3. Samuel Greeson, b. 1722 NC; d. 1821 NC
