In the name of the holy Trinity
Since it is Christian Like that a man do make a Testament before his end therefore
have I also done so - Firstly shall my wife have of the moveables household goods
and Chatties what is mine let it be named as it will to her use and Behoof or to make
sale as need shall require - and the little money that is here and that which is out on
Credit Shall be hers if she needs it. - Secondly Touching the Land Shall Leonard
Rexroad Tend and occupy it as good as he can as long as his Mother Lives & of it he
shall mentain his Mother with food and drink wood and light and warm stove her mare
& a cow he shall maintain for her as his own beasts & Mother shall have the right in
the Orchard as he & in the Kitchen Garden as long as she Lives but Should she
become bedfast sick that she needs Waiting upon so shall her attendance be paid out
of the Estate the Smith Tools shall he use as Good as he can and of it Shall he Yearly
give to his Mother 15 Shillings for her use and keep it in Repair - The thing is when
he has Buried his Mother by my side then shall House and yard & all Land which is
mine the Smith Tools a Plow & Geers and all Tacklings thereto and the Mattock shall
be his own and for the same shall they make him a deed and for that Shall he pay 75
Pounds Virginia Currency & he shall have seven years to pay Every Year one of his
Brethren and should any of the Moveable Goods remain that Shall they after Mothers
Death divide and sons and daughters shall Inherit One as the Other and likewise
Leonard or his heirs of Moveables And Land Should Leonard Rexroad die before his
Mother Shall his wife not Be Rejected and his Oldest son Shall have right to the Land.
This is my Last Testament that I have written by my Good Understanding Written 26th
April 1798 -
And to Confirm this have I Subscribed my Own hand
