"Dear Brothers & Sisters,It is with the most heartfelt desire and
affection towards you that prompts me to unbosom my heart to you
by writing a few lines to inform you of my sad condition.You have
doubtless heard of the sickness of my husband,both verbally and by
letter though you have not heard that that sickness WRS:..udtot-cleath.
These lines will therefore inform you that the 16th day of this
instant Oct,r he departed this life and left me a widow,with nine
children and one at the breast.I want you to inform Mammy Stiles in
particular and all relatives connections.I should be glad to see
some of the brothers and sisters to convene together but I can not
expect this with out you come to see me,which Ishall expect with out
fail.Ihave lately heard of the death of Daddy Gillet.I present my
most humble respects to my Mammy in her state of widowhood and I
think I can sympathize with her under her afflicting stroke of
Providence.I must not forget to inform you that my children are in
good health and all our connections,as far as my knowledge extends
as well.
I have nothing more worth your notice,I shall conclude with wishing
you all health and prosperity while you pass the journey of life.
