By luck I found the marriage record of a Heinrich Speckhan, son of Adam Speckhan and Marie Elisabeth nee Müller to a Emilia Münnich from Nordern near Emden. This marriage record has two remarks in the margins stating that both partners died in Emden. Another lucky find was that Adam Speckhan was a witness to the marriages of his children, giving his age as 63 in 1879. 

I also found the testament of a Doris Speckhan from 1888 that mentions a lot of names that sound familiar (especially Rickmann, Naumann) and an Adam Speckhan living in Emden. I thus conclude that Adam Speckhan had moved in with his son by 1888 and thus most likely died in Emden. The info on Marie Müller is confusing because the marriage record of Heinrich Speckhan from September 1879 states that his mother is alive and living in Celle while the marriage record of Joh. Elis. Speckhan from March 1879 states that she is deceased.
