From Circleville Herald “SAR Holds Grave Maring” Peter Thum/Dumm, 1805 migrated to Ross County from Berks Co, PA and settled on a farm near Adelphi. Received pension for Revolutionary War, died 1837. Buried Old Lutheran Cemetery in Adelphi. belonged to Provost Corps, they would be comparable to present Secret Service. Consisted of men who knew no English and spoke and read German only. Was an itinerant shoemaker; discharged 23 Jun 1783.
