ROBERT R. LENON DIES AT CAMDEN AT AGE 70 YEARS
Robert R. LENON, an aged and respected citizen of Camden, died at his home there last Monday from decay of the blood. He had been ailing for about a year, but the fatal sickness began about ten days ago. His death following so closely upon that of his brother, John, who died March 6th, of the same ailment, has thrown the Lenon family into a sort of double gloom.
Robert R. LENON was a son of Daniel and Martha LENON, and was born about two and one-half miles east of Camden, March 16th, 1844, and died just two days prior to celebrating his 70th birthday. On November 2nd, 1865, he was united in marriage to Nancy PADEN. To this union three daughters, Mrs. Flora WRIGHT of Deer Creek, Mrs. Ida CAMPBELL of Camden, and Mrs. Bertha PAYTON, of Logansport, were born. Besides the widow and three daughters above mentioned, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Nancy HANCE of Lafayette, Mrs. Loretta NIPPLE, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Samuel HEILAND of Delphi, and one uncle, Samuel LENON of Camden, who is the only one of the old family of Lenons living. The funeral was held at the Paint Creek church near his birthplace Monday morning by Rev. Harvey Dailey of Greenfield, Ind. Interment in nearby cemetery.
