Lester A. Tabor became a prominent criminal attorney in Van Buren County, Michigan. He was very successful and at the time of his death in 1911 his estate was worth $75,000. His residence was referred to as the Tabor mansion in his community. Lester Tabor, a Lawton lawyer, was tried at Paw Paw charged with mal-practice and misconduct as an attorney. The judge decided that the charges were not proven, and dismissed the case.This is the Tabor family residence where Maud's body was found in a trunk in the cellar on Nov. 29, 1919 by her sister, Florence.
