Came from Surrey or Kent County England in 1639, probably from Guildford, of Surrey County sw of London) came with a colony under the Rev Henry Whitfield and settled in Guilford CT. Probably md before leaving England and no record of maiden name of his wife. Her Christian name was Elizabeth. Henry died in 1668, 30 years after landing. No record when Thomas his oldest child was born nor is there any of some of the other children.

Possibly first ship, the St. John, commanded by Captain Russell, sailed from England on May 20, 1639, and arrived New Haven between July 1 and 15, 1639.
