Was married to a Sarah and after his death in Lancaster Co, migrated with her sons John Thomas and William to Augusta County VA (now ROCKBRIDGE) in 1750
“These three brothers seem to have been the ancestors of all the Rockbridge Col Paxtons, many of whom moved to KY and some living in Kansas , MO area. One of them is a lawyer in Platte City MO and wrote history of Paxton family but does not include the PA Paxton’s except to say they originally came from PA. 184
This son of James is mentioned by Dr Todd, Dr Egle and others. Little is known except there was a William Paxton in Lancaster Co PA184
A James is mentioned in Lancaster Co who married a Thompson. William does not appear as a son of Samuel nor James even with his 18 children. However the Monmouth IL Paxtons tenaciously claim that their ancestor was James and he was born in PA, removed to Rockbridge and died there. 184
